Snickerdoodle Cookies
Ingredients:

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:

    Preheat oven to 400 deg. Mix shortening, butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly. Blend flour, tarter, soda and salt. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture. Shape into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Put sugar and cinnamon together in a bag and place the balls in the bag. Shake, take out of bag and place on a cookie sheet. Bake until the cookies become flat, about 8-10 min. 

Makes about 6 doz cookies.
