Southern Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

1 lb light brown sugar
3/4 cup water
4 eggs slightly beaten
1/4 cup soft butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust
1 cup pecan halves
Directions:

    Combine sugar and water in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes. Gradually add hot syrup to eggs, stirring constantly. Add butter and vanilla. Pour mixture into pie shell. Arrange pecans on top of filling. Bake in 350 degree moderate oven about 1 hour or untill set. Let cool.
